Alumni News |
Eight pairs of Dulwich Prep London pupils and adults played a 12-hole competition on a bright but colder than usual afternoon and evening, helping 16 Alumni and 16 Corporate teams raise just over £9,000 for the Sparrow Schools Foundation, one of the school’s long-standing charities, which was chosen this year by the Upper School to be particularly supported.
Sid won the nearest-the-hole competition, and his father, Dermot Steedman, won the Sparrow Trophy with Mars and David Herbert just squeezing into second place ahead of Theo Tulk-Hart and his adult partner Tristan Hansen. Alex Sperotto won the putting competition.
The Alumni competed over 18 holes for the Mike Stimson Trophy, retained this year by Tom Irvin with 38 Stableford points, three points ahead of second-placed Olly Hargreaves.
Thanks go to Dulwich & Sydenham Hill Golf Club for once again hosting the day, practically free of charge, to Sparrow’s Trustee and Director of Music at the Dulwich Prep London, Philip Brooke, for running an auction which raised more than £2,000 of the eventual total reached and the many Trustees and friends of Sparrow who helped with the administration of a memorable day’s fun fundraising.
