School News |
Following our announcement last year that we would extend our provision from ages 3-13 to ages 2-16, We are delighted to share with you that both the Department for Education and the Independent School Inspectorate have approved our application. We are excited to be welcoming our first Year 9 cohort in September 2025!
In our announcement, we shared that we would change our name to ‘The Dulwich School London’. Following feedback from a range of stakeholders, we will instead, from September 2024, be known as ‘Dulwich Prep & Senior’. This better represents our future and our heritage of being a school that supports families with a breadth of choice at ages 11, 13 and now 16.
We will not be an all-through school but continue as a school that supports families in finding the right school at the right time for their sons. We will, therefore, wholeheartedly support the transition to senior school at 11+ and 13+ with the additional option of transition to sixth form.
We are proud to say that 95% of our boys secure their first-choice senior school whether they transition at Year 7 or Year 9, and our boys head off to over 50 different senior schools.
The senior section will be deliberately smaller in comparison to most senior schools (a maximum of 60 in each year group), enabling us to offer a more personalised and familiar education environment where the boys are well-known by staff. For those pupils, there are 150 different sixth form options within an hour of Dulwich, not including the wide range of boarding options further afield.
