Lockdown proved no barrier to the Year 8’s annual fund-raiser this June. In 2020 they opted to include the whole school in fund-raising, staff as well, by challenging everybody to take part in a Virtual Mountain climb.
Each section was allotted a continent and set out to scale its highest peak by running up and down stairs to raise money for their chosen cause: Early Years and Pre-Prep for the Paxton Green Time bank which helps the localelderly and vulnerable, Years 3 to 5 to help stop youth homelessness, Years 6 to 8 to help everyone at King’s College Hospital whilst the staff climbed Mauna Kea, technically the highest mountain in the world though half of it is under water, for IT equipment for the local community.
